Second Grade Expectations

Every day your child will bring home a homework folder that you must sign and return. This will keep you informed of your child's behavior and homework assignments.

Each Monday, your child will bring home a newsletter in their folder. Please read it completely and carefully. It will give you important information and reminders.

You may contact any of the second grade teachers at anytime if you need to meet or talk with them.   The number to the school is 972-237-1628.  Our conference time is 12:35-1:25 daily.  We are also willing to meet with you after school if necessary.

In order to provide our students with the educational climate they deserve, we have developed the following Classroom Discipline Plan.  This plan will be in effect at all times.

Rules:

1. Follow all directions
2. Keep hands, feet, and objects to self.
3. Be prepared for class (bring homework folders signed and homework done BEFORE coming to class, etc...)
4. Stay on task.
5. Be respectful at all times.

Consequences:

Consequences will start over each day. Our classroom will use a colored card system for our behavior plan.  A daily discipline sheet in your child's homework folder will reflect their behavior each day.  The behavior sheet must be signed by you and returned every day.

If a student chooses to break a rule, the following consequences will apply:

1^st time = Verbal warning (card stays on green)

2^nd time = Warning - thinking time to reflect on choices made (card changes to blue)

3^rd time = Time out (card changes to yellow)

4^th time = Parent will be contacted (card changes to red)

5^th time = Child will receive a discipline referral and be sent to the principal.

In the event of a SEVERE disruption, the child will immediately be sent to the principal.

Rewards:

Students who behave appropriately will be positively rewarded with praise, tickets, and stickers.
