The 2004-2005 school year is my
second year to teach at Barbara Bush Elementary School and in the GPISD.
I am thrilled to be here and am having a great time teaching the wonderful
students here. I thoroughly enjoy teaching elementary music! Even though I also loved my teaching days in secondary choral music, working in the elementary grades offers so much variety! I am having a lot of fun working with different kinds of music and the many instruments that we have at Bush. The students really love experiencing music through playing instruments as well as singing. Our students are very well-behaved, intelligent and talented, so I feel very lucky to be here. Some personal information about
me: I live in Cedar Hill with my husband, Donnie, and a lot of
dogs! We are volunteers with Border Collie Rescue Texas which saves
border collies from shelters/pounds or from people who can no longer care
for them. We foster them, have any vetwork done, do some basic
training and find new, appropriate homes for them. I also enjoy
training dogs and showing them in obedience trials and flyball
tournaments. I also LOVE to read! I've read all of the
Harry Potter books, Lord of Rings trilogy, lots of mysteries and classic
novels. Of course, I also enjoy music of all kinds! I
also love to go walking, usually with one or two of the dogs, traversing
the neighborhood, Cedar Mountain Preserve or other fun places.
